SERIES 400N HYDROCARBON ANALYZERS

The NYAD Series 400N Hydrocarbon Detector is a microprocessor-based controller coupled to a solid-state sensor. The detector has an operating range of 300-10,000 ppm methane equivalent. The analyzer will display the results and provide an alarm when safe levels are exceeded.

The sensor produces an electrical signal when exposed to various hydrocarbon vapors. The signal depends on the specific hydrocarbon so that the display represents the concentration of Methane that would produce an equivalent signal. For example: Gasoline would produce a signal approximately 50% of that for pure methane. The Series 400N features two adjustable alarm contacts with visual and audible alarm capabilities and 0-5VDC or 4-20mA output that has user adjustable zero and span.

The Series 400N also includes an automatic calibration feature that allows the user to easily perform periodic calibrations using certified span gases.

Special configurations available to meet customer’s specific applications.

Methane is defined as a simple asphyxiant (SA) (ACGIH 1994-1995). OSHA 1993 does not list a PEL (8 Hr. TWA) for methane.
